Father Canice Gardiner, C.P., St. Paul of the Cross Province (1896-1970)

Born June 13, 1896 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Michael and Elizabeth Farell. For a short time he worked as a bank clerk before he entered the Passionists. He professed his vows on August 13, 1917. He was ordained a priest on June 14, 1924. Father Gardner was a teacher, preacher, worked in the retreat house ministry and was a confessor during his years as a Passionist.
