Father Fulgentius Ventura, C.P., St. Paul of the Cross Province (1895-1991)
[May 7, 1991]
Born November 2, 1895, he professed his vows on November 12, 1911 and was ordained on June 14, 1919. For a short time he was a professor of classics in the Passionist seminary. He was assigned to West Springfield, Massachusetts; Dunkirk, New York; Scranton, Pennsylvania and for the last thirty five years of his life at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was a great spiritual director and confessor. Everyone loved Fugi. He was quiet and yet had a commanding presence. One statement often meant more than a whole conversation with other people. Fugi loved to go to the track and was an abiding presence in the Pittsburgh community.
