Born July 28, 1909, he professed his vows on August 15, 1929 and was ordained May 30, 1936. Known to the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania community which he lived in for so many years as Sam, he was consistently smoking a cigar. He was a military chaplain in World War II, a hospital chaplain, and vice-rector.
