Brother Alexis Grotty, C.P., St. Paul of the Cross Province (1859-1905)

Born John Grotty in Cloyne, County Cork, Ireland on March 31, 1859, he was the son of Thomas Grotty and Mary Beausang. He attended school in Shanagary, Ireland. He came to the United States at 21 and entered the Passionists after five years. On October 13, 1885 he made his profession. Brother Grotty died from epilepsy occasioned by a brain tumor.
